Need to Find Housing Fast

I'm a transfer from Georgetown who was accepted late in the game, and I need to find housing for spring semester. I realize on-campus spots are unavailable, so where could I live off-campus and still be able to easily meet friends, etc? I was very involved on campus at my old school, and I also party a lot, so I'd like to find the best-possible place for the social transition. Also, everyone at Gtown lives on campus until junior year, so this is a new concept for me in general, much less in a new city. Thanks!

Good place to start: [Florida State University | Off Campus Housing Search](<a href=“FSU Off-Campus Housing Marketplace”>http://offcampushousing.fsu.edu/)

You can live off-campus anywhere in Tallahassee and make friends. It’s not where you live that determines that, it’s how involved you become in the university that will determine that. If you don’t do the work of making friends on your own, you won’t make any.

A lot of off campus apartments have little get togethers so you can meet people and get to know your neighbors.
If you want to make friends, like Pasbal said, you have to make an effort. Most people who make friends are people they’ve roomed with usually. Other ways to make friends is joining and/or showing up to clubs/meetings. You really need to put yourself out there though if you want to make and keep friends. I won’t lie and say it’s easy for transfer students to transition, you may just end up w/ a lot of acquaintances but they could flourish into solid friendships. If you’re a social person you won’t have a problem at all, if you know you’re a bit shy and introverted it will of course take a lot of effort and be difficult.
