Need Transfer Help: Plan on Doing it in the Future

I will attend UConn next fall and hope to go to the School of Biz. However, I want to transfer to NYU and found out that you can transfer after your first year.

I want to do that, especially after my first year.

What is the average GPA needed for NYU transfers, likely Stern, or I could opt to do economics and get into an easier school.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Also, are SAT scores necessary for transfers?

I applied to NYU but got waitlisted :(

Hopefully you get taken off the waitlist, but if that dosent work xfering into NYU CAS for economics is probably a bit easier than xfering into NYU stern, keep in mind that nyu’s econ department is top 10 if not top 20 in the nation for economics so its very good. Not sure about avg GPA but Id say keeping it around 3.7-3.8~ is good…maybe 3.5+ is ok but its more to chance

Can I transfer to Stern if I do get into CAS? And also, how is the fin aid for transfers?

No. If you’re an external transfer, you’re not allowed to transfer again within NYU.

So is it worth trying to try for Stern or should I just stick with econ at CAS?

u can shoot for stern and if u dont get in, apply as an incoming junior to cas? do what you feel most comfortable with

also, i hear financial aid is horrendous for transfers…regular incoming freshmen get hilariously bad fin aid packages…so i wouldnt expect too much unless they REALLY want you

Is there any hope then to apply factoring in the bad fin aid and difficulty?
