My daughter received an admission letter from Seton Hall university (in NJ) recently. She applied the 6-year physician assistant program, however, when we checked the tuition and fees charged by this university, we were scared. It is over 40k a year. My daughter is now hesitating whether to go to this university or not? Who can give us some idea about this direct entry PA program? Is it worthy of 240k (6 years)? Do they have good financial aid program to help students admitted in this program to afford their study? We need your advice desperately.

You need to contact the financial aid office at Seton Hall asap. Have all your current financial documents to hand. The price on the sticker isn’t necessarily what you pay.

You and your other half need to set your daughter a limit on what you can afford/ are willing to pay towards her college education. This will obviously depend on your finances as well as your parenting philosophy. If she can’t get the aid to meet that number then she has to go elsewhere.

(Most of us) have financial boundaries which prevent us doing certain things in life we dream of. But some creative thinking and willingness to look at alternative routes means that some dreams can still come true after a cheaper, perhaps slightly longer journey.
