Which is best? Top bunk, lower bunk or loner bed?

It's strictly personal preference.

Do you like climbing up and down the top bunk, especially if you have been drinking or are a clutz like me?

Do you toss and turn in bed? (I'd probably roll out of a top bunk.)

If you are in the lower bunk, would you find my tossing and turning above you annoying?

Three people in a tiny dorm room is really the pits !!!

Be prepared not to have a choice....my S was in a triple his first year - the room was 'L' shaped and all 3 had to bunk their beds and put desk and dresser underneath. This did leave them a bit of room at one end of the 'L' for the TV, fridge and a couple of umbrella chairs. Small as it was, it seemed to be the gathering place for the entire floor at any given moment.

I would go with the loner if you have a choice. No bumping heads or climbing.

I was in a triple last year. I had the bottom bunk and about 5 times a week I'd hit my head. It wasn't very pleasant. Id go for the loner bed although if you have friends over a lot they'll always sit on that bed and put their stuff on it.

Ditto to zant's opinion. I'd go with the single bed - it's not that lonely... as lil's said: the other two will probably crash on your bed a few times and put their stuff on it because it's msot convenient :p Just make sure you're ok with that before you choose the single.

I had a double and in the middle of the year we bunked our beds and bought a table so we bunked our beds and I was on top. I actually liked it cause I always got a deep sleep up there. Whereas before my head was next to the minifridge, radiator, and window. You can also suggest that you switch at the semester if you get tired of which ever one you have.

Well, I am staying in a triple tho there is only two of us in it now. Two of the beds are bunked and the other is lofted-mine. Just make sure that if you get the top bunk it isnt too high because you will hit your head on the ceiling and get a head full of plaster!

Also make sure the screws are in tight or else the bed will move and squeak everytime you climb open and down it or toss and turn or laugh even. And sometimes you cant even sit in it without hunching over.

And it sucks being up there if u are a person that does everything in bed (laptop, eat, read) tho its probably good for studying since it forces u to sit in a desk.

Though it is nice and warm up there when your roomate loves the ac or cold winter night.

So i would go for the bottom bunk if you are short or the loner.

But it is probably warm up there on hot days...

Oh yeah it got really hot on the top bunk, but we'd always have the AC on high.
