For the common app can i replace my counselor with a principal recommendation letter and can he fill out the school form? I am applying to Stanford and my counselor told me that getting a recommendation from him will look bad since he was an alumni form Stanford. What should i do?

Yes, I believe that a principal can (though I am not 100% sure), though I don’t know why he wouldn’t want to fill it out himself. Him being an alumni is not bad – he will just have to be objective.

Does my counselor need to fill out the school form, if so can i get a recommendation from my principal and teacher but have my counselor just fill out the school form?

I agree w/Cant Concentrate: his being a Stanford alum doesn’t make him un-objective. He’s being a dope, IMHO.

But yes, your principal can write the statement while the GC fills out the rest.
