Is it true that eveyone signs up for housing at the last orientation, so if I can’t go to an orientation until september, because I am in other couintries, does this mean I don’t get first pick, so to speak?

Not true...Housing and orientation are independent of each other.

so are there any consequences of going to the last orientation

my son is going to GWU, where housing began this week... and continues and continues and continues through beginning July. There were 5 orientation sessions. The first 3 were during his senior internship period in June, where he has a great assignment, and he didn't want to miss that. The last 2 were during his first 2 weeks of summer work at a sleepaway camp. He wanted to do the last one. I talked him into the 2nd to last -- my theory? If you get the flu and you're on the last orientation, you're sunk! Good luck!

Yes...potential you might not be able to get the classes, class times, discussion sessions, etc. you wanted (i.e. stuck with an 8 a.m. class, class you wanted is full, etc.).

You register online regardless of orientation.
