i have been admitted as undeclared and I understand that i cannot declare my major as CSE.
however, can i negotiate that i will attend UCSD only if they take me into my major of choice
No.
You can try to change your major at end of Freshman or Sophomore year like all the rest of the Undeclared students.
I mean… you can always ask, but UCSD will say no, you have to apply for the CS major the same way everyone else who didn’t get into have to apply into it. UCSD doesn’t care about whether you come or not enough for you to have any negotiating power.
I have a question related to this, if I’ve been admitted for communication, is there any way I can change my major after I start attending or am I stuck with it? I can’t decide if I’ll attend until I know for sure I’ll be able to change my major
It will depend upon the major you plan to change to and if it is impacted.

i asked them and they said i can appeal the decision and that they will take another look at it if they will give me CSE outright
