I live really close to NU (about 15 min away) and downtown Evanston, which is right next to campus, is literally the dining capital of the Evanston and its surrounding suburbs. There’s a bunch of different restaurants, book stores, a huge movie theater, and a few clothing stores. The best thing about it is that its not only used by college students- a ton of other people and families from the surrounding suburbs go there too.

There’s A LOT:

^ That is really awesome.

There is also a PBS show called “Check Please” which features regular people reviewing some of their favorite restaurants throughout Chicagoland. A politician and resident of Hyde Park, Barack Obama, likes Dixie Kitchen, and there just happens to be one in Evanston. I haver been there several times, and it’s a nice casual dining exp.

I’m a huge fan of Dixie Kitchen- one of the best values in town. Also reccomend Bat 17 for great sandwiches, Merles, Philly’s Best, The Celtic Knot…

I also hear Edzo’s is spectacular.
