NEOUCOM:Akron, Kent, Youngstown - 2013

Can You guys post your stats to help future BA/MD people? Thanks

My D was accepted to her first choice - Kent. She mentioned that interviews were easy, she went to all 3 of them. However, she decided to go to Miami University (Oxford, OH) where she was also accepted to combined BS/MD program (DAP - Dual Admission Program with UC College of Medicine). Miami DAP is NOT accelerated - that is why she decided to go there. We are instate, she has graduated at the top of her class of 34 kids, she had ACT = 33. She worked couple summers in a medical lab. She got rejected from few other programs, so we got an impression that this one was not as tough to get into.

I just don't understand what the attraction to this program is? Please enlighten me.

^Well...it is a total of six or seven years (your choice) of study vs. eight+ years. Also, you get guaranteed admission to the med school...you only have to maintain a 3.2 GPA and get about a 24 on the MCAT.

I am going to akron for sure as well. Last day of school is may 17th so I guess I am one of the luckier ones!!
