Anyone else interview at NEOUCOM this weekend?

any thoughts?

personally i was kinda intimidated by the akron interview. they had me sit in the center desk of a lecture hall, while the 3 interviewers sat in the seats in almost a semi-circle and fired questions at me from all directions. plus at first they didnt ask any real questions, the just went, "tell us about yourself," and just let me talk, and i was so nervous i know i left out some of the things i was planniong to talk about.
the kent one was much more conversational, i was more relaxed, and i think i did a lot better there.

i actually liked my akron interview. two of the interviewers were really good friends, so they were making jokes and laughing the whole time. kent scared me. i thought that they asked tough questions...and i had trouble understanding one of the doctor's accents. did you interview at youngstown? i thought theirs was the most relaxed and laid-back of the three interviews.

nah i didnt apply to youngstown.... but i know what you mean about the accents... i think my guy was from like eastern europe, maybe yugoslavia or something...
another reason i liked kent's better was b/c the ethics question they asked me was about the whole socialized medicine issue, and i saw that documentary "sicko" recently so i really knew about the issue etc.
so which one do you want to attend? im hoping for kent.

i want to go to youngstown, so i'm glad that my interviews went well there. kent was the only place that even asked me medical ethics questions. the other two just asked what i would do if i saw someone cheating on a test. i guess we'll find out in a few weeks. good luck with kent.

thanks, good luck to you as well, hope to see you in a couple years when they all combine...

so i just saw your "chance" post... haha you're much more qualified than I am, i'm sure you'll get in... if you don't mind me asking, where do you go to high school?

Anyone know how many people were interviewed at each school, and how many they will be taking?

i dunno how many interviewed this weekend, and there's still another round of 'em for the regular decision people, but i think they take like 35 at each school, with only 5 or so for non ohio residents

i live in cleveland. i know that like 45 people interviewed at akron, so i'm guessing that the other two were pretty similar. hopefully they don't have to cut too many people.

Anyone know how many interviewed at Kent?

hi, i also interviewed at all three consortium schools and for me i, i thought youngstown was the best out of three. although it was approximately an hour long(2 separate interviews), they didn't try to throw me off by asking such things like, "what do you think of the health system""what do you think about malpractice?""give me a current event" like the people at Kent. Also, this one doctor had a strong indian accent and i couldn't understand him at all. so i asked him to repeat the question like 5 times.. anyways, akron WAS intimidating...with three people staring down at you but i think it went alright (although i forgot to mention several things)
and about how many people, i think my mom saw the list for kent? and said that she saw approx 40 ppl and i know the other day had about 40 ppl too so i'm guessing it's around 70~80people at each school. but the number of course varies depending on how many people applied to all three or chose otherwise.

ps. good luck to everyone who interviewed!
which schools are you thinking of attending if you get accepted?
personally i think my order is UA-Kent-YSU just b/c UA has strong science curriculum.

my order is UA-Kent same reason, I did not interview at YSU. So you think between the 3 schools about 70 - 80 interviewed.

i slightly prefer kent just b/c i liked the campus a bit better, but honestly i would go to either if they took me.
do you know what % of the total class for 2008 they'll admit EA?

^The rule is that they accept almost exactly (if not exactly) half of the class EA.

i dunno. i asked the judges for UA, and this one guy said that they could easily pick 35 out of EA but i really doubt that. but i don't think they take half like central perky,,, if 70~80 ppl interviewed, they'd have to choose all 35 kids out of EA and i don't think they'd do that. anyways, i thought how the majority were indian people and then maybe white and then asians? it's just funny how there were such small number of caucasions.

btw, yes, searchingdad, i think at least for kent it's about 70~80 people and for others, i bet around the same (except for YSU, cuz no one really likes it there)

and redluke22, i agree with you, i def like the huge dorms i saw at kent and the gymnasium... i'm really going to have a hard time trying to decide.....

You completely misunderstood me.

What the interviewer meant at UA is that the applicant pool is so qualified that they could find enough students for the class in the EA round. However, they do not do that.

That brings us to

What I said, and it was very clear, was they accept 50% OF THE CLASS in the EA round. That means each school will take around 17 or 18 students (sometimes more, sometimes less) in the EA round. They also build a wait list in case someone declines. I did NOT say that the admission rate was 50%. Get it right.

If anyone wants admissions data from the past year, look here.

When are we suppose to get the letters from the places we interviewed?

i got the letter to rank my schools today. they'll mail the acceptance letters on december 10th.

oh now i understand, central perky. i apologize if i offended you in any way.
and thank you for your detailed explanation...

getting accepted to this program will cause me to procrastinate even more....
how does the financial payment work for this program? b/c i know a year's tuition is roughly around 30000. i know they give out a 1000 scholarship during the summer but how much do the colleges give out financial aid?
