oh ok. Thank you very much RadicalCar

^ No problem. If you have any more questions specific to UMN feel free to PM me.

Just found out I have a C+ in AP Chem and a B- in BC Calc. I might be able to bring them up to a B- and B respectfully, but if not, will it hurt me too much.

Just a question, why are you taking that many AP classes if you are getting C’s in them?

actually this is the first time i’ve ever got something below a B-(80%). I’m not too worried about calc cause i think i can bring it up to a B. And as for AP Chem, I had a 100 in regular chem, but i ended up getting the teacher that is impossible to pass. I have the 6th highest grade in the class with a 78%(C+) in a class out of 30ish. The problem is that there is another ap chem teacher in the school, and if u get him, you automatically get As

Just got SAT score from June. Math: 710, CR: 670, Writing: 570.
Math + CR = 1380…Total = 1950
I’m not good at grammar, but I think my 2 part score is good. Will this boost my chances of getting into Carlson

With you SAT improvement I’ll say 10% of getting into Carlson and 60-70% chance of getting into CLA. I’m no expert though.

is that even if I apply priority

If you submit your app ASAP. If you get the Express/Fast-Application in the mail, submit that.

hahaha okay

I got the fast application, and I am probably gonna submit it this week, does that help my chances???

Hopefully you come back and read this. But if you are really set on Carlson and Minnesota - take it from someone who was in your shoes.

I graduated High School in 2011 and a sophomore now at UofM.

I was really looking into getting into Carlson - and applied to Carlson and CLA.
I also had about what you have for your academic profile except I had a 27 ACT - which I could never seem to bring up.

I was denied admission to Carlson - but was dead set on going to Minnesota and to the business program.

I talked to a counselor and she told me “A lot of people that cannot get into Carlson right away out of high school, end up coming into the College of Liberal Arts under an Economic major and do really well then apply for transfer.”

So I got into CLA declared an Econ major - studied my butt off and got a 4.0 my freshman year with a bunch of ECs on campus. Then applied to transfer.

:) I was accepted!

So if you are really set on getting it done then go for it! But honestly apply to Carlson now, and see what they say. You never know unless you try.

Good job Joey! You should feel proud of your accomplishment!
