NESCAC swimming

POmani! Way to go. See you at NESCACs…Enjoy the rest of the year.

Cheers mate!

This may seem like a dumb question but my daughter is very opposed (at the moment) to going Early Decision anywhere. So if she is interested in swimming at a NESCAC school, is the “slot” tied to an early decision? Can she go regular decision or will all of their swim slots be gone by then? Thanks.

They are not used up per se, but a coach has much less leverage in RD-- and also, given the lack of commitment that going RD as opposed to ED demonstrates, rightly so.

She can try --obviously the stronger she is as a student and a swimmer (and the particular needs of the team-- remember that by RD time the coach will have a fairly good idea of his incoming class and will be looking for people to fill holes, by and large-- however, Olympic trial cuts will get lots of attention from any NESCAC coach --:))) )

Just realize that the less she is willing to commit the less the coach will-- she may find herself on the outside looking in (of course she may have a bunch of thick envelopes too-- but probably without much of a coach’s push…)
