So I got a call today from some freshman working at the Tufts admissions office telling me that I was selected as a Neubauer scholar. Uh. What does this mean?
She mentioned having some specific Neubauer only counselor or something along those lines... I know you get some sum of money for being selected (my brother was selected last year), bu t what else is there?

yeah, I also got a call telling me that I’m a Neubauer scholar, and got a letter in the mail today. From what I gathered, its a pretty selective program, so congrats! In terms of finanical aid, it means that all the loans in your financial aid package will be turned into grants (yay free money!). If you’ve already gotten your financial aid package and there are no loans, now you know why. I know that, for me at least, I got a pretty sweet financial aid package (~43,000 in grants/ work study). I’ve read that Neubauer scholars also get $10,000 each of the four years to spend on research, study abroad, internships etc. The letter I got today said there would probably be about 12 Neubauer scholars in the class of 2016, which means they probably accept more than 12. There is a special visitation day on April 20 for Neubauer scholars where we can talk with the director of the program. This is a really enticing offer for me, and I’m really excited to have gotten this scholarship. If you have questiopns about the program you can call Tufts at 617-627-2000 or e-mail vickie.sullivan@tufts.edu

Hi I’m applying ED to Tufts this fall but have never heard of this scholarship before. Could anyone explain the eligibility of this scholarship and how to apply for it? Thanks
