Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at UCD

Hey guys, I have to choose between UCSD Thurgood Marshall or UC Davis for Neurosciences/Pre-med. I love the Davis campus more but UCSD would be closer to home. I would like to know how Pre-meds at UCD like the entire situation. I have heard that UCD is much less competitive than UCSD. How are the internships, research and other opportunities? How are the dorms there? How are the people and the professors? Is the Neurobiology program well-known? Should I join the honors program in winter? Does the honors program help for grad school? How many people from this major or other majors go to grad school? Also. I’d want a single or double dorm, so how should I choose? As a pre-med major, should I choose Segundo over Tercero, etc. etc.? Any input by pre-med at Davis would be appreciated. Are there also a lot of Asian Indian people (because I would be one of them)? My biggest concern is the dorms and the research opportunity and the reputation of the program for med-school? Thanks guys. Please help me out!!!

I’m not an NPB major, but my roommate is. The NPB major is well known among the students here. Anyway, Tercero would be a better choice for you if you are pre-med, because almost all science courses are in buildings close to Tercero (for example, SciLec 123, where a majority of science courses are held, is only about a block away from the Tercero dorms). I don’t know anything about the Tercero dorms since I lived in Cuarto when I first transferred to Davis (this was back when transfer students still had the option of living in the dorms), but I’ve heard that the dorms in Tercero are spacious. I’m also not pre-med (I’m pre-vet), but from what I’ve heard, pre-med internships are extremely competitive and there are always waitlists for the pre-med internships every quarter.
