Do I have a shot for UC TAG??? Can I get in or no????
Will the previous bad grades affect my chances?
Will the C and D hurt me??
I have 2 w's will they hurt me??

The impact those bad grades may be mitigated if you explain why they happened in your personal statement on your application. Ws don’t really matter unless you have many, many more. But there’s nothing you can do about those now, just focus on getting good grades on your prerequisites, which definitely matter more than other stuff and complete IGETC even if it means having to take a whole other course. Doing that and I’d say you have a pretty good shot at getting into those UCs you named.

You have a pretty good shot at all those schools. A lot of people got accepted for Econ at UCSD and UCSB with GPA’s around 3.5

I believe TAG is only for CC transfers. At the very least you would get into Riverside and Santa Cruz.

@novalord2 I am a CC transfer. I only have 12 units from CSU.

Why would I only get into Riverside and Santa Cruz???

I thought you were a cal state transfer, which lowers your chance of getting in. and I said at the very least.

A 3.6 is great for a CC transfer, although it is usually a bit below average for Cal and UCLA.

Would it lower my chances to not finish IGETC???

Have you already applied or are you planning on applying this fall for 2014?

I’m applying this October-November. Why?

Oops, I see that in your original post. My apologize, that’s what I get for not reading everything.

Lol ok so what

Cmon more inputssss!!!

Tony, it’s nearly impossible to chance you with zero prerequisites done. Economics prerequisites vary wildly. Some are very prereq heavy (man. economics @ UCD) while others are pretty straightforward (Berkeley, UCSD). You need to have IGETC finished for UCSD and UCB. I think it’s just highly recommended for the others.

I heard as long as you finish pre-reqs by the end of the year after you apply for TAG it’s okay.

And I’m only 1 class away from finishing IGETC. Would that hurt me?

Not at all. Just finish it by the end of the spring. Do you just need calculus and economics for your prerequisites?

Oh actually nvm, Stats is one of the pre reqs so I have 1 out of 5 prereqs done lol.

And I’m thinking should I take one more class to finish up IGETC, or two more classes for PREREQS this summer???

Which would be better???

Yup. And business 1 is a prerequisite too I believe. For UCLA and UCD man. econ at least. I think it depends on where you want to transfer (your first choice). Some of the UCs are lenient about prereqs for economics while others are super strict. Same with IGETC.

UCSB #1 choice

And quick question.

Do you HAVE to have IGETC and PreReqs done by the time you’re applying for TAG???

I’m gonna have 44 units and only 1 pre req completed by the time I’m applying for TAG.

I’ll try to answer this the best I can.

<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;
[UCSB Admissions](http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/SelectionProcess.asp?selectiontype=prospective_transfer)

Says you can file a TAG if you have 30 semester units. Since you have non-ccc work, looks like you cannot exceed 90 combined units. You don’t need IGETC completed. Need a 3.2. Need to have econ prerequisites done by the end of Spring (I think it’s the end?). That’s 1 year of economics, 1 year of calc, and stats(which you have).

You won’t get in any UC unless you have 60 semester units.
