I plan on taking the Math level 2. My goal is to get a 750-800 (is this good enough for UCSB?), and review out of Barrons 8th edition. My first question is, how long will it take to review? 3 hours/day x 7 days? Eh?

Also, which programs can I get to help me?

Next question is, how is the US history SAT? I have virtually no friends who have taken that one yet (considering we are all still in it right now). If I take it at the end of the year, again, which books/how long to prep? Seeing as I'm only taking an honors US history class, I probably won't know too much by the end of the year. I may need a ton of extra work.

From what I've heard, the USH SAT II is quite difficult. It's easy to score in the 700's, but i think it's hard to get an 800.

For math, it really depends on how well your math classes have prepared you. I took a pre-calculus course that was well taught and managed to do well on the Math level II. If you're in calculus right now, a 750 should be easily manageable. I would only study an hour a day maybe a few days out of the week. Again, it really depends on how comfortable you are with math.

I have taken two years of AP U.S. History and am currently in my first semester of AP Government; I scored a 5 on the AP and I think that I got an 800 today. That being said, i find that I have a knack for history and I still had to put in a lot of work over the course of the past few weeks. It is definitely doable, but be prepared to memorize all the nitty gritty stuff.

By the way, studying for three hours daily is a bit much; I'm sure you could just read through Kaplan three times and be all set. Additionally, I recommend buying the official SAT book as real test prep.

If precalc is pretty fresh and you're good at math, then I'd say you should be able to finish the Barron's in 3 or 4 week-ends, 4 hrs/week-ends.
