New AP Chem content vs. Chem sub. test content?

<p>I have heard that there are several topics/concepts formerly covered in AP Chem that will no longer be on the revised AP Chem test administered in 2014.</p>

<p>Does anyone know whether these 'removed' topics are ones that must still be learned for the SAT Chem subject test?</p>

<p>It used to seem like studying for the AP Chem test was sufficient preparation for taking the subject test. But I wonder if with the changes to the AP test, this will no longer be the case.</p>

<p>I have also posted this question in the subject test forum but thought the people doing AP might know more about the new test's content. Thanks for any insights.</p>

<p>That is correct. There have been no changes to SAT Chem, so I’m sure that AP chem now might not be enough. You will probably learn the core stuff better, but the memorization of colors, unique properties of various chemicals,(such as HF is used as a etchant), redox chemistry, (don’t quote me on this), electrochem.</p>

<p>OLD AP Chem and SAT Chem are identical. Old ap chems question are about 1.5x-2x more difficult that sat chem.
I would just get a seperate SAT chem book to study this time. Usually I would say that an old ap chem book would be enough.</p>
