New Broadway musicals?

Does anyone know anything about Legally Blonde (coming to Broadway in March) or Curtains (in previews now)? I heard one thing about Curtains-that David Hyde Pierce is the only reason to see the show but I haven't heard anything else. And what about Pirate Queen? I have been receiving discount coupons for some of these and wanted to know if anyone knew anything before I spent the money on these shows?

Yes, I read that Laura Bell Bundy (who was, I believe, the original Amber in Hairspray) is playing the lead role (Elle Woods) in Legally Blonde. In fact, I am told by my D that the musical has a website where people can watch videos of the show as it comes together.

I've heard mixed/not so positive reviews of Pirate Queen. Stephanie J Block is apparently awesome...but the show itself...

I know nothing of these shows, but I saw Stephanie J Block in the Wicked tour and she was incredible. It would be worth the ticket to see her perform, in my opinion.

Yeah, I've heard that The Pirate Queen needed work after Chicago, but I don't know whether it's been changed a lot or not. I saw Stephanie in the Wicked tour too, though, and I agree...she was amazing!! I'd go see TPQ just to see her again:)

I really want to see Legally Blonde. There is a website (the link is on Broadway.com) and it has all the info on casting, etc. The music that I have heard so far is very pop-ish. It kind of reminds me of Wedding Singer or Hairspray, both of which I like.

And I have heard bad reviews about Pirate Queen as well.

I'm going to NY for spring break and hopefully I'll be able to see Curtains! One of it's stars is Jill Paice who graduated from BW in '02. She plays David Hyde Pierce's love interest in the show!

I think Elon has a graduate in Curtains, also!

Congrat's to BW star.

And then there's going to be Little Mermaid...

Dreamgirls is ocming back in two years...lol, sorry im really excited about that!

i know the workshop of legally blonde had aaron lohr as warner, but that was last winter, so i don't know if he's still on the project. and jerry mitchell (hairspray, la cage, gypsy, camp, blah blah) is choreographing as well.

Aaron is no longer involved with the project. The cast has changed substantially from that group which was involved with the early readings, as is often the case.
