I heard that there are new dorms on campus-- are freshman placed in any of these?

No, freshmen are restricted to two areas: President's Park and University Commons: George Mason University - Office of Housing & Residence Life

If a freshman is friends with an upperclassman and they want to room together, then the upperclassman would type in the freshman's G-Number during the room assignment process (RAP) and "pull" him or her in to wherever they want to live. Students get to pick their room assignment in accordance to the number of credits they have.

BTW, the new housing is called the Chesapeake area.

The NEWER housing has a few freshmen, particularly some of our high profile students.

what is a “high profile” student?

Those whose parents have donated 7 figures.

High profile most likely entails students who are part of the honors program and athletes.

Hi all. Anyone know which dorms within President’s Park and University Commons are the newest or nicest?
