<p>What does one do when new financial problems arise after the FAFSA deadline? Tough it out for the year? My dad got laid off today.. so my family income just went down considerably. I'm hoping that it will be very temporary but I feel like I should be prepared for the worse.</p>

<p>yeah, most colleges have a change in circumstance petition that you can file. As was said above, contact your school's financial aid office and explain your situation.</p>
