New Freshman Dorm Near Bell Tower

Hello - I just saw the article below. Three dorms on east campus will be closing and replaced with a new dorm that will house 250 students. Epworth, Jarvis and East will be closed. Construction will start in August, and finish by Jan 2018.

I’m wondering if Duke will make any adjustments in the incoming freshman class to account for this?

The article states that the three buildings will continue to house freshmen for two more incoming classes, so it doesn’t appear to impact the class of 2020.

Oops I missed that part. So if my math is correct, the 3 dorms being replaced currently hold approx 210 students (50+80+80).

Once these close down, a new dorm that holds 250 students will open. Does this mean that the freshman class will be increased by upward of 40 come Fall 2018?

I agree that this will probably increase the number of freshmen Duke will admit.

As an unrelated question, in what dorm(s) do freshman live wh select the performing arts option?

I believe they live in Pegram.
