<p>Does anyone know the details about the new housing being constructed currently?</p>
<p>The new dorm is replacing FEMA trailers which were removed last summer. It will be open by Fall, 2011. The new dorm is located immediately to the north of Butler Hall. I believe that the building will be about 5 stories tall. I’ve heard that it may have suite style rooms. Also, I’ve heard that it will be primarily for sophomores and that - for Fall, 2011 - preference will be given to current Butler residents, as a recompense for having to live near the construction this year.</p>
<p>Another very important aspect of the new dorm is that it will be the 2nd dorm, Wall being the first, to be Residential College format. That means a professor and their family, if they have one, will live there as well. I would assume that, like Wall, people will apply to live there and that will include an essay(s). However, since this will presumably be all sophomores (unlike Wall, which includes freshmen), the committee that decides who will live there will have your freshman history at Tulane to examine as well.</p>
