LOL science nerds are the coolest nerds around xD

duhh!
I was actually wondering the same about physics, but MIT wants all three sciences XD

if you don’t want to take physics just do like a quick introductory summer program in it. Most upper tiered colleges recommend at least one class in each science discipline (bio, chem, phy) but if you can just somehow show that you learned some physics in some way I think it wont hurt you.

Well nvm. Scratch what I said above.

Course recommendations

Princeton : at least two years of laboratory science (including physics and chemistry for students interested in engineering)

MIT :
•One year of high school physics
•One year of high school chemistry
•One year of high school biology

Harvard: 4 years of science: biology, chemistry, physics, and an advanced course in one of these subjects

Stanford : Science: three or more years of laboratory science (including biology, chemistry and physics).

Cornell : 3 years of science (including at least 2 lab sciences)

BU : Three to four years of laboratory science

Georgetown : it is recommended that secondary school preparation include: a full program in English, a minimum of two years of social studies, modern language, and mathematics and one year of natural science.

It really depends on the colleges you want to apply to. I’ll update this post with more schools.

Yah, I’ll probably end up taking yearlong chem then yearlong physics.
I am considering taking a brown course over the summer, I recommend checking them out, they have ALOT of different areas to study, they are really cool!

and expensive.

ooh, summer @ brown? yesssss!! they have awesome nommy classes that i nerded over so much when i first found out about them. good idea :D

homg, good luck gabii! MIT is pretty ambitious, but you sound like you’re on the right track 8)

thanks, 2010. i think i’ll go with taking a physics summer program, because i DO want to learn basic physics…but not extensively go into it. tuesdays + physics = epic fail.

tuesdays:
im taking chamber music and private piano lessons toooooooooooo!!!
omg >.<

yes. and expensive. but that counts for all the summer programs, including harvard’s, CTY, duke TIP…etc =/

just go up to a physics teacher and ask for a book they would recommend that gives a basic intro to physics. Or go to like the math and science tutoring sessions and have someone teach it to you in your spare time.

haha that’s so funny!! what if we ended up in the same quartet or something? hommmg. wait, chamber music groups can’t have more than one piano. /lmao fail

Guys, do you have any feedback on my schedule? I’m mostly just concerned about the workload and my question about Music Theory. gracias!!

Your schedule is pretty normal for preps. IDK about the difficulty of German though. Are you guys both going to be preps? If I repeat I guess I would be in your grade! Too bad I will be taking like all super advanced classes. I want to see if I can double up with honors chem and physics next year so I could techniqully start at Exeter with the science requirement filled and can take AP sciences in my lower year. Also I am taking pre-calc next year so I will be in Calc as a new lower… I am scared though. Like all the classes that I would potentially take are hard. haha.

More posts than you!!!

that’s definitely a good idea, 2010, but the whole self-studying alone with a textbook would never work for me, because my self-discipline is pretty much nonexistent! really hoping exeter will remedy that, haha.

hmm…thou hast more posts than me! AHHH!

So you know how it says in the course booklet Audition Required for some musical groups?
How do you know if your good enough to be in it?
because I dont think I am good enough to be in stage band…

We’re going to be new lowers =) I love languages, so any difficulties would be fine with me. i actually want to pick up arabic senior year, or go abroad. Don’t repeat! If you don’t then you WILL be in our grade! =D

haha that’s pretty courageous. i’m trying to go as easy as i can my first year at exeter (save for language, lol), so i can focus on clubs and extracurriculars.

wat about piano duet??? that would be sooo much fun =D
lol tuesdays

Sorry, I have no idea on anything music related. haha.

Isn’t there someone you can e-mail? Did you guys get some kind of advisor?

I got to get going soon I have to do like 2 projects and it is getting late. My teachers are getting mad at me because of my procrastionation. haha.

Aww… You guys are going to be older than me (well grade wise). Maybe we will still be in some science electives together. haha.

I should really stop thinking about exeter because knowing my luck I won’t get in again and will be disappointed once again.

When they say ‘audition required’ i think they’re just evaluating your level. like you aren’t one of those fake band players that sit in the back of the room and pretend to play hahahaa. so it should be fine! I mean, stage band sounds pretty diverse. :)

although i’m quitting violin this fall since i only play it for my school orchestra here. i’m HORRIBLE at it and i don’t want to ruin any exeter orchestra i join, even if it’s for the ones with no auditions, lol

dont give up 2010!!!

would that chair fit in a dorm room? would it be allowed?

there is. i’m just so intimidated by her since she’s so awesome. nah jk, i’m definitely going to ask her about this stuff too

haha good luck! and be optimistic!

le gasp, SOMNUS. they have a piano ensemble duet club thingg!

ok, I havent played in about year because of scheduling conflicts, but I am going to practice over the summer so I can do stage band :D
