NEW major in Global Public Health at UVA?

I am interested in being a public health major and had looked into UVA but did not find a program BUT I recently saw that as a part of a Global Studies major, you can now be a Global Public Health Major (new for the upcoming yr). Does anyone have more info on this?

Or can any current global studies majors share their experience? I am not sure I would be as interested in the other parts of the global studies program as I would be in the health component.

You can also make your own major – I knew a girl who majored in basically global public health, a mix of bio and anthro. You have to have certain grades to make your own major.

Thanks I saw on the common app today you have to apply as a “global studies” major but I am going to call and hopefully find out more?
