Which one should i select as 1st priority in the housing app? Everyone always groups them together, but is there any difference between the two? Is one historically more social than the other, or has more floor events? Fill me in.

Bump. I am very interested as well.

They are the same thing, its just one big building split in two. The north part being North and the south part being New. They are divided by hall ways in the middle and the person next to you could be living in North while you live in New and vice versa.

is it new or north that is directly on figueroa? the first story had bars on the windows last time i was there… dont really want to end up in those rooms.

I believe the first story of each one has bars on the windows…that’s just for safety. Neither one is directly on Figueroa.

oh okay i just mean the one closest to the gate/wall

The one next to that gate is New. As posted before, North is the one that is, well, north.

I lived in New my freshman year and had a blast, but they are honestly the same thing.

yeah got the whole north thing just didnt really think about it.
and ive heard rumors that rooms with sinks are bigger and worth the extra money…
would you agree with that?

thanks for the help

Rooms in New/North with sinks are the same size as those without sinks. You just have to judge if a sink is worth it to you.

If you haven’t seen it yet, click on any residential hall then “view” and you can get a nice virtual tour.

oh alright cool thats helpful. thanks!

There are very few rooms with sinks. They are not bigger and after living there, it’s not a necessity at all.
