New Paltz Decisions?

Has anyone heard yet from New Paltz for RD applicants? My daughter's status has read "The status of your application is unavailable at this time" for about 2 weeks now.

My son’s status has been the same, I’d say for at least a month, has your daughter heard? what about other SUNYs?

She has not heard yet, but I remember last year when my son applied it was late February when most of the RD applicants were notified. We should hear soon enough. The funny thing is, my son was wait listed last year so he went to Plattsburgh instead, and he just reapplied as a transfer to New Paltz in the middle of January, and he heard back withing two weeks of his acceptance. Meanwhile my daughter is still waiting since early December.

I know many of my friends who already got accepted… Maybe call in and see what’s up?

My son was accepted to New Paltz today! Meanwhile, the online portal is still thanking us for our patience… it has not been updated. Instead his acceptance came in a large white envelope by snail mail. FYI, Smithmarket-- I actually had called the admissions office there today and was told that a cluster of admissions decisions would be going out towards the end of February and that they tend to send them out towards the end/beginning of each month. Have you or your daughter checked to make sure her application is complete?

Well, FINALLY we heard from New Paltz, my daughter was accepted. It not her first choice, but it IS the cheapest of all the schools she applied to, so it’s definitely still in the running.

smithmkt, My son transferred to New Paltz from another SUNY as well. He is now a senior there, living in a house off campus with friends. That is the toughest part of being a transfer as you basically have to find other housing away from campus. But he has loved his time there, has made some great friends, has a job in town and when he comes home he cannot wait to go back. My daughter was accepted in January under early action. It’s a front runner. We are going to Accepted Student Day this Saturday. I believe there is another in April. Best of luck!

Hi, I have been helping my little sister with all of her college applications. She applied to SUNY New Paltz RD. When she clicks the link “view your application status” the status of her application has said “Your application is complete and a decision will be made shortly. Thank you for your patience” since last week. However, when we logged on today a new link now appears under the link to “view your application status”.
There is now a link that says “View your New Paltz ID Number” This was not there until this morning. When we click that link it says:

“Your New Paltz ID Number
Your New Paltz ID Number begins with the letter N followed by eight numbers. Offices and departments on campus use this number to locate you in our student information system, and may ask you for it in person, over the phone, or on forms.” This is followed by a 9 digit number starting with N.
Below that it also lists her NPCUID Login ID name that she has been using all along to log in and check her application status. It says “Your NPCUID is your username for logging into New Paltz computing services such as my.newpaltz.edu, campus E-mail, Blackboard, computer labs, the campus wireless network, and more.”

We are wondering what this means. Do they give New Paltz ID numbers to all applicants or could this mean that she has been accepted? Any ideas?

we are having the same exact problem! Hoping for a response soon! Been waiting since november!

I could be wrong but I think that is a very good sign. Even after being accepted, the status will always read: Your application is complete and a decision will be made shortly. But once you are accepted there will be an additional tab that reads something like pay your deposit. I cannot look at it anymore because once we paid this for D (she applied EA)we rec’d an email that had her NPCUID logon and something changed with our temporary passwords that we had set up prior. I can tell you that everything at SUNY New Paltz is connected to this number.

I’m helping my little brother with his college applications and he also had the link with his New Paltz ID appear on the 14th and this morning he has other links:
View your New Paltz ID Number
Pay your Pre-Enrollment Deposit
Register for Accepted Student Open House
Register for Spend The Day
Join Caf

Thanks so much for the info everyone.
@gf1025 Congrats to your little brother! No change for my sister so far. She still just has the application status link and the New Paltz ID link. Hoping she hears something (either way) soon!

Thanks @Lilylight! It seems that NP is finally making decisions and sending them out. Keep us posted and best of luck!

No updates here. I’m thinking that the New Paltz ID is assigned to everyone once the application is received b/c SS# are no longer used. Fingers still crossed!

Lily, once we got the letter in the mail with his acceptance we noticed New Paltz actually accepted him on March 12th. So it took them almost a week to post the acceptance on the portal. Maybe they want us to find out the traditional way (by snail mail), just didn’t work for us since the mail took so long to arrive…lol…So you might get the letter before it shows in the MyNewpaltz page. :-)

Update: So my little sister got her rejection letter in the mail today. The web portal never changed and still says a “decision will be made shortly”. I guess it’s confirmed that the New Paltz ID is probably generated for all applicants rather than using SS#; it then probably becomes the Student ID once accepted. Thankfully, over the last 2 weeks she has gotten acceptances to 4 schools (3 of which she is very excited about) so she wasn’t too upset. Still waiting to hear from a few more. Thanks for all the responses and congrats to all who got accepted:)

my daughter received a large envelope today from New Paltz. However nothing new online this morning. Do u guys think she got in? thanks.

(she’s gone for a few days and Im dying to get a hint)!

yes - seems really likely! congrats
