<p>Looks like the university is in the process of designing a new method for obtaining student tickets. More details should emerge later this month.</p>
<p>I have some friends involved in this process, and while they haven't given me much information, it seems that the procedure will be shifting to an online entry for a lottery with tickets being printed by the student and scanned at the gate. This will enable students to get tickets without having to stand in the lines to turn in the coupons each week before the games. Of course, this could change as the process is finalized, but that is my understanding of how it stands now.</p>
<p>I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. While the convenience is always nice, I think it will make it easier for the "social fan" (that is, students who come out to the game for the tailgates and all, roll into Doak sometime after kickoff, and then leaves a quarter or two early because it's too hot) to get tickets if it's as easy as pressing a button online. I guess we'll see once the whole process is released.</p>
<p>mrcnole,</p>
<p>great information. keep us posted as you get more details. you are our person on the inside!</p>
<p>The ticket office has finally published some updated information. It is a bit disappointing that they are waiting until the last minute to give any updates or finalize the procedure. </p>
<p>The general idea is that coupon vouchers will no longer be distributed; instead, there will be a lottery which students enter online the week prior to each home game. The lottery will be weighted such that upperclassmen have priority (seniors get 4 entries, juniors 3, sophomores 2, freshman 1), and members of student boosters will get 2 extra entries.</p>
<p>Also, tickets will be printed with student's names and must be presented along with a valid FSUID at the gates at Doak for entry. There will be an option to transfer a ticket, with a $2 fee - the name printed must match the ID of the student who is using the ticket. This was done to prevent non-students or recent graduates from using student tickets. </p>
<p>They are introducing a print at home option (for a $2 "convenience" fee), or you may still pick up your ticket from the Howser ticket office. I have also been told that the blocks will still exist, though the lottery will be done on an individual basis. So if you win a ticket, you will be seated with your block.</p>
<p>Complete information is available at Florida</a> State University Official Athletic Site and, as noted, an e-mail will be sent to students the week of August 18 with complete, finalized information.</p>
<p>D received this from her orientation leader:</p>
<p>Hey friends! Here's the latest news on football tickets for this fall. The idea is NOT final, but should be finalized on seminoles.com really soon. If you have any questions, ask me or check their website. :)</p>

<li><p>Ticket Registration Period
• Students will have a 2-day registration period to register for a ticket to each home game.
• The registration period will be from 8am Wednesday the week before the game until 8am Friday the week before the game.
• Eligible students will have the opportunity to request 1 student ticket.
• Students can create or join a block prior to registering and then select to sit with that block during the registration process.
• Students will also have the opportunity to request to purchase up to 2 guest tickets during the registration process.
• During the registration process students will have to choose from one of two delivery methods:
o Print-At-Home tickets will be e-mailed to the student to be printed out at their convenience. There will be a $2 charge for the Print-At-Home delivery method.
o The other delivery method will be Will Call pickup at the Student Ticket Office located at Dick Howser Baseball Stadium.</p></li>
<li><p>Notification and lottery (if necessary)
• Following the registration period, if the number of tickets requested is fewer than the number of available tickets, all registered students will be awarded a ticket.
o Emails will be sent to all registered students notifying them that they will be receiving tickets for the game.
• If the number of tickets requested is more than the number of available tickets, a weighted lottery will be conducted to determine which students will be awarded tickets.
o Emails will be sent to all registered students notifying them that a lottery will have to be conducted for that game.
o The Seminole Ticket Office will conduct a weighted lottery.
o Each student will have entries in the lottery equal to the number of lottery points they have: Seniors/Grads-4, Juniors-3, Sophomores-2, Freshmen-1, Seminole Student Booster members-2 additional points. [SORRY FRESHMAN!!! lol j.k j.k.]
o Following the lottery, emails will be sent to all students registered for the game to notify them if they will be receiving a ticket or not.
• The ticket office will charge the credit cards of any student that requested the Print-At-Home delivery method and/or student guest tickets.
• The ticket office will assign reserved seats for all eligible students awarded a ticket. All blocks and individuals will be assigned based on a completely random location seat assignment process.</p></li>
<li><p>Ticket delivery
• Those students who selected the Print-At-Home delivery method will have their tickets emailed to them by 5pm, Monday the week of the game.
• Those students who selected the Will Call pickup delivery method will have to pick tickets up at the Student Ticket Office located at Dick Howser Baseball Stadium. Will Call pickup hours will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-5pm. These students will need their own FSU ID to pick up tickets. Each student must pickup their own ticket.</p></li>
<li><p>On-Demand Order Period (if tickets remain)
• If tickets remain following the registration period, those students not yet registered will have the opportunity to claim a student ticket on a first-come first-served basis beginning Monday at 5pm ONLINE ONLY. Students will be required to sign-in to their account and the only delivery method option will be Print-At-Home with the $2 charge.</p></li>
