I thought i've seen people say that regardless of when you take the SATs and SATIIs, you get the choice to send which ever scores you want (if you are in the class of 2010 that is.) Recently i have seen people saying that this policy applies for 2010ers that take the tests ONLY after march 09.

Guys, the ACT has had score choice for years. With the ACT, you send the score or scores that you wish them to see. If you get a 36 on your 5th try, you can just send the 36 and colleges will have no idea that you took the test 5 times. Things will be no different with the SAT score choice policy.

It is technically possible for the CB to coordinate with colleges so that when you choose a school to receive a report, you would have, or would not have, the option of which scores to send (depending on that school's policy). But I believe the planned system starting in March is an honor system: if you've taken the SAT 10 times and a school wants every score, it is up to you to know that and send every score ...

well i registered for the Jan SAT. I felt it would be a good practice experience.

but fig i do not see how the new policy can be based on an "honor system." There's so much competition that many students will withhold their lower scores in order to get an edge over the rest.

^ a better idea than to fret needlessly is to make sure you're set to ace the january SAT. you've got like 2 months. it's always better to do it once and get it over with permanently.
