The new SAT will not be arriving until 2016, one year later than originally announced.

No, I think they just announced this yesterday. In any event, this is good for me to know, as I’ve got an 8th grader who is going to be impacted by this. (And not in a good way, I guess. It would be nice to get a few years of the new test out there before she takes it.)

Are they changing the next PSAT?

“The new PSAT will start in 2015”

That really does suck for people who will be taking the test in its first year or so of administration. It’s nice how there are about 8 years worth of released tests for the current model.

Grrrr. I have a HS class of 2018 kid who will be impacted. If he were class of 2017 I would be going GRRRRRR!!

How many more students are going to be focusing on ACT prep instead? I think that’s going to be our strategy here!

What if anything do people know about the new PSAT? I have a freshman who will be in the first group taking it, so I am TICKED. All I’ve read so far is less emphasis on vocabulary items, which I take it to mean bye bye sentence completions. Anybody else have more info?

Oh, and potential 86-in of the writing section, but that I don’t care about…

The fact that the ACT has recently become more popular is, I think, part of the reason the SAT is changing.
