<p>I hear that many top colleges are not looking at the new sat writing because it is in its first year of the NEW SAT and thus many are simply considering the verbal and math components. But in this case, does that also apply to that colleges also wont look at the Old SAT II WRITING subject test? I got a 640 and I was hoping that it wont be looked on similar to how the new sat writing wont be looked on as that important.......</p>

<p>If colleges accept the old SAT AND REQUIRE the SAT Writing with that, than it is 99.99% sure that they will compare it to the new SAT Writing section. So for all intended purposes, it is possible (in the eyes of some schools) to get a 2400 without taking the new SAT. I, for example, would get a 2330 (1540 old SAT + 790 SAT II Writing) at such schools.</p>

<p>They definitely will look at the writing. I mean, it's just like the previous writing SAT II but combined in the new SAT I.</p>

<p>The new SAT writing is different from the old SAT II writing. It is harder and the scoring is still somewhat of an unknown since it has only been given a few times.</p>
<p>i don't think it's harder. the sentences are very simple. i mean it was my best section on the test - i got an 800. just get to know the ways to spot the various mistakes in sentences. if you're english is strong then you should have a relatively easy time raising your writing score. it's critical reading which i find a real bugger.</p>
