New site theme and icons

@CC_Jon since this update, I have not gotten the little blue things that indicate I have responses on threads I have responded to. Is that gone too?

I’m having issues too. The blue number pops up but then disappears before I’ve read them all.

Well…I got a number for the first time in days…for this thread🤦🏻‍♀️

Yay. I got a new badge.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Example: an important post in the Say It thread where the poster deserves support. Can’t respond to the post so the best I can give her is a thumbs up. :woman_shrugging:

Sure you can PM someone but that takes more time, more clicks and doesn’t show support as a community. I love when I see someone struggling with an issue or celebrating a victory and the emoticons on that post show the enthusiasm of the community support. Again, it’s a silent but effective way of communicating and building community.

Welcome to CC, Ski.

I think it is weird how the number of reactions shows up on the right side of the post (next to the thumbs up icon) if there are only thumbs up on the post… but if anyone selected a checkmark or light bulb, reactions only appear on the left side, and the right side of the post does not show any likes.

Just thumbs up:

With a checkmark:

I understand it was done to help stabilize the site but it is always frustrating to users when features are taken away.

So is this a temporary change to test stability? If everything checks out, we’ll get some of the old functionality back? (At least, a few more emojis and a way to select them without doing a long press?)

Admins, l also noticed that you can’t see who liked a post.

Example:

When I click on the “liked” icon, the little pop-up shows the user’s icon “L” - but there’s no way for me to click on the L to see which user it is.

I’ve added a few more emojis:

Definitely open to adding more in the future. (Or even now, given there’s an extra space that’s begging to be filled!)

This is not so easy. It would require development work, unfortunately.

The “thank you” () icon please!

And not sure we need 3 different “laughing” emojis. May be a couple of these could be replaced with more in-demand emojis like :people_hugging: or :hugs:?

It’s working for me:

I do see that sometimes the popup un-pops. Maybe that’s what’s going on for you?

When I click on the user’s profile icon, nothing happens.

Hmmm… Ok. Which browser do you use?

It’s not working for me either Jon. Only the extra emojis on the lower left corner show who made them if I hover, but not when it’s only the thumbs up.

@DadOfJerseyGirl are you on mobile or laptop/tablet?

I ask because I can hover over a user avatar when on laptop and then see the name (don’t click, just hover), but I haven’t yet figured out how to identify the user when I’m on my phone.

ETA: It’s more confusing because it requires different interaction when it is only thumbs up (on the right). First click to see the user avatars, then hover over the avatars to see the user names. This is on laptop. Not sure about how to get that on mobile yet.

Mine works as Jon shows above on both Macbook (firefox) and Iphone (safari).

ETA: I would like the :100: and :tada: emojis back, assuming I can’t have party hat blowing a noise maker emoji!

Mine works as well

I would also like to see :100: back, I think it is more commonly used to express total agreement with a post compared to :heavy_check_mark:

Question: why are emoji appearing in gray rather than color? The color only appears when I hover over them.
