New Sophomores

I always see advice pages for Freshmen, but what about sophomores? Any tips?

Most schools will have new students come a few days earlier than returning students for move in/orientation. This is a great chance to meet new people and get comfortable with your surroundings.

I would reccomend getting to know as many people as you can and becoming involved. Obviously, when you come in as a sophomore, friend groups will have already formed freshman year. That’s why it is so important to introduce yourself, talk with new people, and involve yourself in school life. Join clubs, do an afternoon activity, etc. I know it seems scary, but the best way to become involved in the community and adjusted is to dive in headfirst! You got this:)

Was a new 10th grader last year. Biggest piece of advice, like the previous post mentioned, is to really put yourself out there, more than you might be comfortable with. Also, don’t ONLY socialize with other new lowers, as sometimes happens. Talk to everyone!
