This looks like it will be a win win for everyone in Tuscaloosa. With over 300 units, that means more than 774 students will be able to walk to campus or take Campus shuttle. The complex will have 774 bedrooms so depending on living arrangements, the total number of students could be even more. UA doesn’t have to spend a dime.

The complex will be built on a 10.4-acre site between the hospital and the UA School of Law on land that was formerly owned by the Tuscaloosa Housing Authority.

This is a win/win…not only will it provide housing for undergrads…but also for law students. I think Bama wants to grow its law school and appeal to more OOS students.

Adjacent to the eastern edge of campus near the university’s Schools of Law and Nursing, the community will include 774 beds within 337 units in a variety of studios, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. Each apartment will be fully furnished with private bathrooms and bedrooms, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer.

The buildings will be three and five stories with a variety of structured and surface parking. The clubhouse will include a movie theater, state-of-the-art fitness center, study space, game lounge, computer lab, great room with kitchen and staff offices. The grounds will feature a large swimming pool with outdoor patio complete with grills and picnic area.
