I just found this out today. I realize most of you already know this, but starting with Fall 2012 transfers you can only submit a TAG to ONE campus.

Why would the UCs allow only one campus to be a TAG per application?

Personally, I'll be submitting a TAG with UCSB.

Four words, ‘too many TAG applicants…’ Last year, many people who were TAG certified got wait listed and eventually denied admission to UCI because there were so many TAG certified applicants and not enough space to accommodate them. Think about it, a ccc student with a 3.0/3.2 GPA could be TAG certified to UCM, UCR, UCSC, UCI, UCSB, UCD and UCSD and be accepted to all of them. This takes up acceptances from the non-TAG applicants.

Personally, I think it was ridiculous that a student who could barely pull a 3.0 was basically guaranteed admission anywhere. I actually really appreciate the fact that UCSD was the first school to not guarantee major preference (as to not flood the school with TAG Bio major wannabe doctors for ex.) and now the first that requires a 3.5. Also, TAG is somewhat biased against high-unit majors since those students are often not IGETC certified within 2 years.

Additionally, I’m bitter because I couldn’t even apply for TAG at UCI because I have some units from a 4-yr university. If you’re considered a Junior CC Transfer student, you should be allowed to TAG anywhere provided you follow the requirements. It’s not really fair to have additional restrictions on students who would otherwise be a standard Junior CC Transfer on all accounts.

TAG should be a PRIVILEGE for students who work hard, not an ENTITLEMENT.

latenews.

but, i feel TAG’ing to multiple campuses, especially to UCI,UCSC,UCD,UCSD,UCSB,&UCM is just a person who wants to brag off to his or her parents/grandparents.

find your major, find your school you prefer based upon location and accommodation to your major and select that one with maybe one MAYBE TWO for backups. most people know well in he double hockey sticks, they don’t want to go to UC Merced.

i plan on TAGing to UC Davis. regular applying to UCI, UCLA/UCSC just because you get 4 colleges to apply to with the fee waiver.

i think it is justified, for the reasons stated above. people who TAG to every school are taking away spots from people who could not TAG for whatever reason (like having 29 units done when writing their applications).

i will also be TAGging to UCSB.

Hmm, I’m tagging Stanford. Anyone does so too?

lmxao kme, we all know ucb>uci.
