Only TAG to one UC starting Fall 2012?

There was talk here on CC where many people were saying that starting Fall 2012, we'd only be able to TAG to one school. I can't find any more information on the subject so I was wondering what's new and if the the UCs will be imposing these limitations.

When I log into my online TAG application, I have TAGs checked for UCSD,UCD,UCSB,UCSC, and UCR and there isn't any new restriction that says I can only apply to one campus.

It could’ve been a fluke for all we know. Or that person’s counselor was on something.

my counselor told me that to, interesting question, ima gonna go on a search now.

my counselor has also confirmed with me that information and i beleive it has been released in various press articles. also gpa reqs are increasing for tag for some schools. now, i beleive to best increase your chances to get into uc schools without tag is to be very poor and dependent on finaid or be a international, out of state student paying double, triple the normal tuition because all the uc/csu schools are trying to find ways to make up for the 500 million loss to the system.

< very poor.

i have been googling and havent found anything, i have seen the GPA increases. #continuesearching.

It might be true because I have been hearing the same thing on cc and the new TAG requirements are supposed to be announced sometime this month (for fall 2012 applicants), so hopefully it is just a rumor.

UCSD tag for sure increased, its stated on their official website for tag. I am sure it will probably be 1 tag to school from hear on since so many tag applications came in this year and the colleges just don’t have enough room for everyone. Some people on the UCSD post have been reported to be wait listed even though they have tag. I myself have yet to hear from UCirvine even though i qualify for tag.

Does anyone have any links confirming the TAG to one school only???

I’ve tried researching online already and I can’t find any information on the supposed TAG limitations. I have no links to back this up, just stuff I’ve been hearing from people, which could be complete (I hope) buII****.

A Davis rep told me this too. I am guessing UC’s will put up this info once this school year ends?

Can’t these w*nkers take it one at a time? 3.0-3.5gpa in 1 year and now only 1 TAG limit?

■■■■ i found it

No. Beginning with fall 2012 TAGs, you may submit a UC TAG Application to only one of the seven participating UCs. Though limited to one UC TAG application, you may apply to all UCs of your choosing during the regular process in November using the UC application for undergraduate admissions and scholarships.

I think most of the big changes to the UCs we’ve been hearing about have been basically confirmed in various places. The 3.5 cutoff for UCSD has been on the UCSD website for a while. UCD and UCSD leaked their plans for a move toward holistic admissions in an internal document. I think the one tag rule has been verified elsewhere as well.

The best way to increase your chances without TAG isn’t to be poor or international, it’s to kick a*ss in your classes.

Has UC david always had a 3.2 TAG requirement? their site now states it is a 3.2 for most majors with 3.3 for engineer

Also do you guys think UCSB and co will be raising their GPA requirements even further from 3.2 to maybe a 3.5?

it was 3.0 for davis last year and in previous years. for selective majors the gpa needed to be “competitive” was like a 3.10 (like comm and IR).

so I guess they raised it to a 3.2-3.3…major bummer

i coulda sworn the reqs for bio was 2.9. anyways this is sorta good because maybe those too far below wont be able to catch up and there will be more space? bwahaha. #evil.
