WHAT THE F! why dont they keep the same methods as last year?!?!

To be more efficient with application. Less TAG application => less work => more man power to do other things (and etc.).

They realized that they have being extra work dealing with the TAG of applicants who had no interest of going to their school.

what extra work though? everything is processed through a program. Filtering out who finished all the requirements and who didnt

TAG is a privilege, not an entitlement :)

I haven’t read up on the new requirements but I’m guessing also that they’re doing so to make admissions harder possibly? If I get TAG approved to say 3 UC’s and go through regular admissions to one more, I can still go with the fact that I am approved at 3 if I am denied from the fourth. However, if I am only able to TAG one UC on a single app, then I must go through regular admissions to any others. I could be wrong but this is the message I’m getting.

I don’t see the problem. If you qualify for a school’s TAG, then you submit your TAG app for that school. There’s no need to do this for, say, Davis and San Diego, if you’re already set on going to Irvine.

i agree. desiring to TAG to 4 UC’s is pointless. if you desire SD but TAG to Irvine where i want to go, its unnecessary competition.

if you don’t have the gen admission stats, you don’t deserve it.

…this TAG thing is spoiling people…

Uh, because it makes SENSE. If everyone and their mother does a TAG to say, UCSB, but many of them choose UCSD, it leaves no room for those who aren’t eligible for whatever reason. If you want to go to a school, TAG to it. You know what your top choice would be if you got your acceptance letters today (and if you don’t, best figure it out now). Just TAG there and don’t hog spots that other people want.

thread backfire?

The schools i want to TAG don’t guarantee majors in Letters and Science (UCSB & UCSC)
… should I tag Davis… or will that send out mix messages to UCSB and UCSC this coming November??

@w4nt2badoc you should really call “D”?

forreally tho.
