Hey,

I'm rising sophomore, who'll be transferring to Penn (wharton) next year. And I started completing the housing application online. I was hoping I could some tips on what type of room and what dorm to request. A single would be awesome, but I realize that's not likely for external transfer.

Thanks for any suggestions about good places to live.

one question, which are more in demand, double apartments, triple apartments, quad apartments?

Hey! I transferred to Penn last year and I would suggest that you contact the housing office and see if they're putting together a "transfer community" in any particular dorm. Last year they had one in DuBois (where I lived) and it was great. A bunch of us transfers from 07 are staying there and I even have friends moving into DuBois from King's Court. So...figure out where the highest concentration of transfers will be and go there. If you really just want to make sure you get a single bedroom, I'd suggest a triple in DuBois

I would really like to secure an apartment style room with kitchen and private bathroom. I don't double apartments with 1 bedroom or triple apartments with 2 bedrooms. I just want to secure apartment style, so should I request double, triple, or even quad to make sure I get an apartment style?

you could request a room in sansom place west, which is apartment style with many rooms having kitchens / private bathrooms

there are single rooms and doubles with 2 bedrooms there
