New York Film Academy vs. AMDA

Hi everyone!
I'm looking at two schools for their two year conservatory musical theatre program, but I have found so many bad reviews about both schools, so I'm getting really nervous about it.
Does anyone here go to these schools or know of anyone who is in it, and could give me some advice??

I want to become a professional actress and a singer. I have good singing training but not as much in acting. Since I live in Iceland I just want to attend a two year program in New York and see how I like it and after that getting a BA(BFA) if I need it.

Also, do you know how competitive these schools are, and if it is hard to get in even if you are talented or experienced?

Please share your experiences! :)

Thanks so much!

There are many threads on here about AMDA that speak to its reputation and selectivity (or lack thereof, depending on who you ask)…I am unsure about the other program. The most important thing people need to know about AMDA is that they are not accredited by regional accrediting agencies universally recognized in higher education in the United States…so any “credit hours” you take there will not transfer should you decide to pursue a degree elsewhere. Any “degree” you obtain from AMDA is not going to be recognized by accredited institutions of higher education. Do your research - there are MANY programs out there (both audition and non-audition) that might be a better choice for you.
