i’m not a NYU ED2 applicant, but for my ED2 school, i tried emailing a “supposed” university email (e.g. firstname.lastname@school.edu) after seeing some of these comments on this thread

the email domain should be correct

when my friend in the states did it, my email went through but hers didn’t. when my other friend from a different state did it, both our emails didn’t go thru. and when i did it from canada, they all went through

just wondering if this is a faulty indicator (e.g. different timings for the email to bounce back)

Hello! I have tried to do that to the NYU system as well. Google responded a day later, saying that the NYU domain rejected the email request, which is one of the three possible outcomes for unreached emails. I found this link helpful: Fix bounced or rejected emails - Gmail Help.

interesting how it was a day later for you… in the situation that my friend sent emails, her email bounced back but my email didn’t (yet)

but in the other case, when my other friend sent them, all of our emails bounced back within 5 minutes

so no correlation/causation?

I assume no correlation here. Historically for Stern (school of business) applicants, a working email is a sure sign of acceptance; however, for 2026 and 2027, the emails never worked for those applicants even when they were accepted. I will paste my email thread as a reference:
