Hi! I’m only a sophomore in high school right now, but I have a 4.2 GPA. I’ve played 2 years of JV volleyball and may try out next year for Varsity. I’m headed into my second year of Varsity basketball, and I take a theater class and wrote a One-Act which will be performed by my class and I. I’m in Forensics club and Athlete-to-Athlete, which is a club in which kids help athletes with special needs, and last year I was in Environmental Club. I play piano and guitar and I am currently in three Honors classes, two AP Classes, and 11th grade English. If I keep this up through my Junior and Senior year, will I have a chance at getting into NYU, or will I have to do more?
Most definitely. Maybe add a few more EC’s and do some programs over the summer and you’ll be golden.
Start taking some SAT IIs. Also it’s never to early to start prepping for SATs and ACTS.
@turquoisedonut Awesome! Thank you so much!
Take the ACT/SAT, as turquoise suggested, and stay committed to your dreams! I wish you the best of luck, but remember, it’s “by my class and me,” not “I.”
I just made my first c do I still have a chance of getting into NYU?
Yes, but make it your last C. Also, if you have the cash for it I would recommend looking at NYU’s summer programs - they have a great one for dramatic writing that I attended and from what my professors told me it really helps with admissions.
I come from the poorest county in the metro Atlanta area so I’m not going to be able to afford the summer camp but do you know of any summer programs that are free or have financial aid that will help me?
