Newhouse Question

Hi all,
I'm currently split on whether I'd like to study photojournalism or Newspaper Journalism in general. The CA supplement is asking me to declare one; would it be more advantageous to apply photojournalism and then hopefully be able to change it if needed, or should I go with the more broad "Newspaper Journalism"?

Thanks!

IMO it depends on what your EC's, etc. focus on...Newhouse really wants to see passion in the area you concentrate on in your application....Yes, you can change later, but pick the one that you can substantiate with your activities.....

Don't worry too much about it. You'll have time to decide while you're taking the core Newhouse classes. We all have to take COM 107 first, Newswriting 205 (when you take this depends on your last name), and Graphics.

I applied as a Magazine major, but just switched over to Public Relations. You just have to fill out a slip and it's changed the next day. I only decided to change my major so early because PR is the Newhouse major that has the most fixed classes/credits so I needed to get a head start.

Aside from that, I would THINK that they would look more closely at your writing skills if you apply Newspaper. I'm not sure though, because everyone accepted into Newhouse has to have strong writing skills.
