Newhouse/Whitman ED vs RD

My son decided not to to ED to the Newhouse/Whitman program. Although he is 99% sure this is the program he wants, the 1% doubt, held him back. He is also looking at Villanova business school, but the allure of a dual major in pr or advertising, coupled with finance really hits to his interest. I fear his stats for acceptance would have been greatly enhanced by going ED. But that is over...so what do you think his chances are:

SAT 2030 (690 CR, 660 M, 680 W)
GPA 95 (all honors courses and will graduate with 6 AP's, and assume all are 4 or 5's)
Middle of the road ECs...lots of community service ad a few school clubs, no leaderships however.

White male and live in Brooklyn, NY.

Opinions are greatly appreciated.

DD is in the Whitman/Newhouse dual program and really loves it. Syracuse really values interest so hopefully your son has visited the campus or at least Syracuse’s Lubin House in Manhattan. Senior year grades and course rigor also are very important. It sounds like he has that. Community service and/or other ECs are important. SU is a very active campus. Highlighting his community involvement should help. Lastly, strong letters of recommendation could tip the scales.
Your son sounds like a good candidate for both SU and VSB.
Good luck to you and your son.
