On a different thread, there’s a listing of when many schools mail their notifications. It says March 31 for W&M. Is that accurate? 3/31 is a Saturday. Office open?

If not the 31st, would it be Friday the 30th or Monday, April 2?

We don’t actually have a set date on which decisions are released each year. We generally don’t know what date we will release decisions until a few days beforehand. Our process has a lot of moving parts and we just cannot predict precisely when decisions will be sent. We do promise they will be sent by early April. Once we know more we will be sure to let everyone know via blogs/CC/social media/web.

Will admissions decisions be EMAILED?

Yes, we email decisions to the email address you provided in the Common App. Those admitted will also receive follow-up information in the mail. Those waitlisted and denied will receive an email only.

Is William @ Mary still sending RD emails on the first round. My friend got an acceptance over the weekend and I have not heard.

I saw on the blog that last year accepted applicants to the joint degree program only got snail mail and not an email, while waitlistees and denied applicants only got an email and not snail mail. Will that be the case again this year?

When do you send email notifications to international students this year?

Emails to international students will be released at the same time as domestic students ad we’ll let you know the exact date when we get to that point.

Last year joint degree applicants who were admitted got email and snail mail while those waitlisted and denied just received an email. This year is likely to be a similar model but the joint degree program emails came a few days after the W&M emails.

people are already getting acceptance letters…is there a reason for this? When will we hear back? hopefully next week…

In the mail?

The only regular decision students who have received decisions (which were sent by mail only) are those who received merit scholarships. The bulk of regular decision applicants have not heard from us. We plan to release decisions this week. As soon as more specifics are available we’ll let people know.

When were those notifications sent out? A while ago or were they sent recently?

They were mailed the week of March 5.

This afternoon W&M posted this.

OMG!! did anyone receive their email yet?

Noooo ahhh so nervous

nothing yet, good find takita!

Decision emails will be sent throughout the evening to regular decision applicants. Emails are sent to the email address provided in your Common Application; please check all spam/junk folders. Our Admit It! Blog outlines how emails are sent, what to do tomorrow if you don’t receive an email and the reasons we made the decisions we did. There is a separate blog for all decision types (Admit, Waitlist, Deny). They provide a lot of good information about what happens from here forward (blogs.wm.edu/author/admiss)

Best of luck to everyone!

what’s taking so long!

^ I feel the same, but they did mention that it is a tedious process. So, let’s wait. It’s almost here.
