"Next Generation" of College Confidential Here Already? (FALL 2010 Transfers)

Erikuh,

Thank you, but I didn’t need that class. I needed the Women’s Studies 10 class. It’s okay though! If you want some intellectually inspiring teachers, try Gorgie for Poli Sci/Philo 51. He’s tough, but I haven’t heard anyone that has ever taken him say he wasn’t their favorite professor.

^ thanks. I’m taking honors women studies in the fall :confused: I can’t believe womens studies filled up before philosophy.

I think I’ll actually take summer at gcc/pcc (which is better?) since SMC is far and I found out none of my friends are taking summer session. I’ll look into Gorgie for winter/spring. As long as he’s not tough to the point that it’ll be difficult to keep a provisional contract.

From what I hear PCC’s the better school. If you’re going to take summer session somewhere else do you think you can save some classes for me?

^ which classes? I have a counselor meeting Thursday to get the okay on my schedule so I can hold 2 classes for you then.

Oh, it’s okay then. I have a counselor’s meeting tomorrow so I’ll be able to register by then. If you want, I can take a quick look at your schedule to see if it’s okay. I’ve gotten pretty good at this stuff :]

I am also an anthropology major. Cultural (most likely)

@erikuh, do you have Chan? Hahah. Kaz he said the same thing to us. That really sucks. ): Can’t believe the number of courses that only have, like, one or two classes offered in the Fall… I think the BOG waiver will cut down on eligible applicants too, which sucks even more. I need my discounts! Ahaha.

'ey there =)

Martin - Oh it’s just to double check that I’m all good for TAP certification and sign TAGs and whatnot.
But my tentative schedule now is:
MW

  • World Archaeology / Lewis (last pre req)
  • National and California Government / Schultz
  • English 2 / Daughtry
    TTH
  • Introduction to Women’s Studies / Klein
  • Sex, Gender, and Culture / Minzenberg (anthro :))
    I really only needed Eng 2 to finish off IGETC.
    It’s weird having so much room to explore different topics. Especially coming from a high unit major like Toxicology at my 4 year.

edelynly - Actually Fier told us. He’s a photography teacher. If this keeps up, we’ll see the more budget cutbacks at the UCs we transfer into.

Ugh, I know. But supposedly they passed (I think?) this thing where certain students with low income get a great deal of financial aid? I don’t know now with the economy and all, but I hope it still applies.

On the brighter note, I’m taking Klein in the Fall, too (if everything goes according to plan, ahah). Heard she’s good.

Erikuh- is this for fall or for summer? or what is that schedule for?

@Johhny
haha well lets just say i live about 40 mins away from san jose soo i don’t think im driving all the way to SF twice a week ahhah.

@Evan
hmm i took a cultural antho class before. very enjoyable, basically like my intro to sociology hah.

mehhh no one else is doing business =[

I’m in cultural right now- I REALLY wish it was more challenging. It’s my major, and I fell asleep during class today. -_-

Erikuh,

That looks fine. You’re so lucky to have everything done by the Fall; Winter and Summer are going to be pretty fun, choosing electives and what not.

well my cultural antho class was pretty chill, mainly because we had to do SL [service learning]. i actually gained a lot outta that class so do want to take more classes related to that field, but i’ll most likely take some more soc classes. if you haven’t taken any sociology classes, you should! good stuff.

Oh no he teaches more in the south bay I think he only teaches one class at CCSF in SF on monday nights. He teaches at Ohlone in Fremont and i think De Anza and another college hes easy for bio anthro.

Has anyone sent in their AP scores to CC? Do you just send it and they take care of it or what?

Evan - It’s my fall schedule. Out by 12:30 on MW and 11:15 on T/TH. No more 14 hour days! And I’m pretty sure we’ll be super challenged at UCLA (hopefully lol)

Have you seen the upper divs?

My mind constantly is debating which school i’d like to go to if crossed fingers i get in to all of them (between Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD). puzzled look
