next year

hey,

i feel like i got seriously ****ed over this year in that i only got into 4 out of the 11 schools i applied to, 3 of which were safeties....considering i got a 3.5 junior year, will probably graduate with a 3.75 senior year, and will have taken 10 APs by the time i graduate , recieving 4s or 5s on all but 1, all at an extremely difficult and well regarded private school, if i do well at university of michigan 1st semester as in 3.8 gpa or higher, do i have any hope at transfering into a place like harvard, yale, columbia, or brown (all places that so kindly rejected me this year)

what major do you intend to transfer with and what SAT?

We have similar stories!!

When I applied out of HS I had impressive numbers (GPA/SAT), but I was rejected by Columbia, Yale, Harvard, and Penn--I only got in to 4 safeties. I was set on Michigan also then I decided I'd take the full ride Drexel gave me for a year. I applied for transfer and was accepted by Columbia today.

My advice: really really really try to LOVE Michigan (Hail to the mother****ing victors!). Understand that it truly is one of the best schools in the country and it's socially great. I give the same advice to others--if by Thanksgiving you still want to transfer, then apply. GOOD LUCK.

political science or economcs....and 2180 with 770 US, 760 Math II, and 680 Chem SAT 2s

I had a 1470 (770V 700M) 730 Math I/730 Writing/690 Chem. I originally applied as a Neuroscience major to CC, but this time I applied as a Biomedical Engineering major to SEAS (that probably helped a lot).

Please realize you probably did not get rejected for your stats. You probably got rejected because they had several students with profiles similar to yours. Go enjoy Michigan. Let us know at Thanksgiving how you're feeling! :)
