Minnesota’s the only one in a metro area. I live in the twin cities and there are some pretty good clubs and bars in town, and dinkytown serves as the de facto college town for the U, pretty solid nightlife up here.

I heard U of M has a lot of… cold people. about 1/2 of the people I met at ISU are actually paying out of state tuition because they come from minnesota, even though U of M supposedly has a more prestigious engineering program.

But yea, as for night life. Any big city will probably do.

I go to IU-Bloomington and I’d say the club/bar scene is pretty horrible, especially since you have to be 21 to get into any bar or club, and fakes never work out here. Any live music show? You gotta be 21 to go. Plus, the true legit clubs are all like a mile from central campus. Most of the nightlife here is in the frats or off campus houses/apartments.

U Minnesota is in Minneapolis, and they have Downtown right across the river and Dinkytown on the edge of campus which has a billion clubs and such… it’s probably your best bet.

I’ve never been to Mizzou, and Champaign-Urbana is similar to Bloomington.

I don’t get it. Anyways people go to ISU because they either don’t want a big city or didn’t get into the U or Madison.
OP-for most programs the U is probably the best school on your list as well. For engineering besides ChemE it’s UIUC and for Journalism its Mizzou. Otherwise I’d go to the U for sure.
