Night life in NYC

are there any good bars/clubbing places in the city? I know some clubs allow 18 yr olds to party and 21 yr olds to drink, but honestly, I want to drink, too. HAHA okay. I heard fake ids are hard to get in NYC nowadays too…

I’m sure everyone wants to party in college, so don’t judge! just give me some good info ;)

Are you kidding me? In NYC???

Silly girl… :)

churchmusicmom: You beat me to it! Is this for real?

Looking for fun at night and being under 21 can be tough in nyc.

So to actually answer your question (which isn’t silly), on manhattan, yes
It can be tough. I’ve found that Astoria, Queens–super easy to get to and safe,
has hookah bars for 16 and up.

Although, there are plenty of cafes near columbia to enjoy. Drinking out here is expensive
and it gets old. I’m hoping at Barnard that I’ll be in such good company that picnics and girls’ night
and Columbia activities will be better than Manhattan bars.

My d has not ever had to use a fake id, and has attended many cast parties near campus where there was, I am certain, alcohol consumed. And I have personally accompanied her to restaurants where wine was ordered and consumed by all manner of underaged students. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think one has to drink or even go to bars to have fun. My only point was (made poorly) that there is indeed quite a variety of things to do. Including but not limited to going to one of several places to swing dance (some pretty cheap), attending free performances in the Park (mostly summer, though), doing student rush/free or discounted tickets to a Broadway show (through the College Activities Office at Barnard), or looking out for announcements about “Restaurant Week” where various up-scale eateries provide limited menu selections for relatively CHEAP prices.

Sorry I was rather flippant initially. It just seemed like a funny question to me, but it was kinda early in the morning.

no it’s alright. thanks for the info
