NJ colleges ... do I think I can get in the following

2.1 GPA, 1000/1600, 1640/2400 SAT's ... did some EC/Activities such as volunteering at church, going on mission trips for the needy, volunteering at library, tae kwon do, and a club member.

Seton Hall? Stockton? Rider? Rutgers-Newark?

What do you plan on majoring in?

^psychology or business. probably undecided, but those two interest me. why?

None are sure things in my mind. Also think about Fairleigh Dickinson; Monmouth; William Patterson; Kean; Caldwell; Bloomfield

Good luck

Personally I don’t want to put you down, but being honest I don’t think you can get into Seton Hall or Rider. I would say you should also look at Montclair and if your a minority even asian then there is this one program that Montclair does. It requires you having a certain GPA and family income, I’m not sure if you qualify but it’s a pretty low GPA requirement maybe under a 2.5? You can apply to that program while you apply for your colleges and maybe have a better chance. Good luck though. I would maybe even recommend you going to your community college for a year or two and transferring out. Just do really well while your there and maybe you can attend Rutgers-NB. If I were you I’d just go to a CC then transfer to Rutgers-NB, however you should concentrate on academics VERY seriously. Good luck though once again.

Centenary College in Hackettstown? You would definitely be in.

Centenary and Montclair are very good ideas

How about Pace University in lower Manhattan?

i doubt you’ll be able to get into montclair with a 2.1 gpa even though ur sats are there, Kean, Caldwell, Bloomfield,Centenary,William Patterson are possibilties. Rider prob not and seton hall most likely not =/

rider is a JOKE to get into… don’t even worry about that one.

Very doubtful to get into Seton Hall with your challenged gpa. Even with a solid explanation, you gpa will make many 4 year schools pass. You’d probably get into Centenary, but it’s debatable whether it’s worth the additional cost above that of a strong community college. How about West Chester (Pa.), Univ. Rhode Island or Univ. New Haven? Check the webste www.CollegeData @ the “See Who’s Gettin In Where” section for comparison.
