NJ SCHOLARS 2014

I had my interview today; I think it went well.

Anyone else?

anyone get acceptance/rejection letters yet?

Letters mailed today.

I MADE IT HOLY CRAP!!! good luck to everyone else!

@spazzer4501‌ Great to hear that! May I ask what county you are from?

I should be getting my letter tomorrow then. The anxiety is killing me- I feel nauseated right now :frowning:
I hope I can attend this wonderful program.

@Tman1005‌ monmouth county, I thought the letters were supposed to come in tomorrow so when I saw it in the mail today I nearly had a heart attack. good luck! hopefully it’s good news tomorrow!

Just got my letter- rejected

rejected as well:(

@katievd97 Sorry to hear that. I wish the letter said more; I’d like to know where I can improve for future interviews and applications. Oh well :(

@Tman1005 Yeah I’m really disappointed and really wanted to do the program…especially after the tour/interview! I thought my interview went pretty well too but maybe there was just a really strong showing this year. I’m trying to find some other similar summer programs to do (which wouldn’t be nearly as prestigious), but I haven’t had any luck :frowning:

@katievd97 Right, I’m also now scrambling to find something to do. It seems as if most deadlines have passed, or the programs costs several thousand dollars which would be better spent paying for college.

I would assume that its always a strong showing. After all, the applicants have all been pre-selected by their schools, and then only ~10% get in anyways. I thought that my interview went well, but overall I was stunned by the knowledge and personality of the other applicants. I knew that getting in was a long-shot, but it still hurts getting rejected yet again.

@Tman1005 hahaha those are my feelings exactly. It’s comforting that I’m not the only one going through it either…in fact there’s probably dozens of people going through what we are

really sorry to hear that guys  i’m sure you’re all amazing people and you’ll definitely find something great to do over the summer. don’t let this weigh down on you.

to others who have been accepted, there’s a fb group! search ‘NJSP 2014’

My daughter was accepted to the program but can’t locate the Facebook group - can you please check that the group is not on secret or post the URL here?

Heres the link… replace the ** with facebook (CC blocks it for some reason)

Hi, my daughter applied for this year’s program and got waitlisted. :-/ I was wondering if any other students got waitlisted (i.e., as opposed to an outright rejection), and what you think the chances are for waitlisted applicants. Thanks!

I was rejected also :frowning: and I also emailed them afterwards thanking them for the great experience

@Jay2631 Sorry to hear that you were also rejected.

@THSDad: Sorry for the late reply, but your question warrants a reply. I’ll be blunt and just say very few make it off the waitlist, and in some years every spot is accepted. I think last year only one or two people were accepted from the waitlist.

I got accepted as a semifinalist for this years program and was wondering if anyone had any advice for how to prepare for the interview?
