NMF Rejection Letters are likely being received this week.

Luke is @pamom21’s BFF at UCF who sent out invites to NMFs (?) for a banquet. We want to see if has insider information.

Luke is the National Merit Recruiter at UCF- he’s the fountain of knowledge of all things NMF- our own guru. He’s a really great resource. Hoping that this week our GC gets notification. She said she will definitely tell us as soon as she hears. We have a LOT riding on this decision. I haven’t mentioned it on here, but if DS is a Finalist, he will attend UCF and we will actually be moving our family down to Orlando permanently. We have always had plans to retire there, and with DS going to college there and my DH being able to work from home anywhere, it seemed like a great time to just do it. It’s a really big, scary step for us. We’ve never moved before unless a company moved us, but we have planned on it for so long, it seems serendipitous for it to happen now. We have no family ties where we live now, and our other two kids will have to change schools this year anyway.

Looks like I might have two BFF’s, Luke AND @SparkleMom97!

Oh you know it! That guy is my lifeline right now! So glad this is all going to be finalized and set in the very near future if we make NMF. I hate the not knowing! I will say though, that he told me on the phone last week to let him know when we are informed, making me think that the colleges don’t get a list. I am sure they get one of the students who chose that college as first choice, though.

I hope the blizzard doesn’t delay sending out the certificates!

Chicago is pretty hammered right now with the snow. Hopefully they won’t be delayed.

@SparkleMom97‌ that is so exciting. I’m happy for you and your family. Best of luck with the move.

DS#2 is snowed in in Chicago. He will fly out tomorrow. Made his flight home for 6 pm today totally forgetting about the superbowl! Well, he’s getting to watch it now.

OK friends, here we GO! Let’s make this week a great one and EXPECT the best possible newsby the end of it (IF we have have school GC’s that will have mercy on us and let us know when/if they hear something!)! Sending good vibes to all of you!

I hope we are all over the hump of having the worry about getting a rejection letter. May the mail be swift!

Put the spakling wines in your fridges NOW! (albert69 - sparkling Welch’s will do!) The (last) 14 Days of NMF begin!

Just checked our mail. No official letters except from ASU and Oklahoma – both referencing our son’s ‘finalist’ standing. Oklahoma dated 1/22, ASU 1/27. So…if Luke isn’t calling your cell phones, watch for these promising letters!!!

@goinggoing did your son apply to both ASU and OKlahoma?

I had a feeling they were given finalists lists a few weeks ago.

Seriously?? Wow, wish the colleges would just let us know then. Especially since they know my DS and know that we’ve been working with them and what our plans are, Geesh.

Haven’t heard or received anything from the school S picked as #1 yet.

@Cshecmia‌ You shouldn’t hear from the school yet. The school likely doesn’t even know…and probably shouldn’t because you don’t want them offering anything at this point, in case your child changes his mind between now and May 1st.

Thanks @mom2collegekids. True, we are still waiting on decisions. I just mentioned it because posters were indicating that schools were sending out unofficial Finalist congratulations and invitations. S received one from UCF, himself.

Looks like some kids have received the letters.

@texaspg, does the thread above reference NMF letters, or rejection letters? Do we have reason to believe rejection letters are still being sent?

No that poster did not indicate when rejection letter was received. Plus it was 3rd hand relay of information. We are good. Have a cookie
